A lesson NOT from the Peru president

I has high hope when hear that Peruian president annouce a national day of mourning for the victim in 2008 Sichuan earthquake, however, that I am disappointed when the foreign minister added the explanation that is because of a sizable Chinese-descendant living in Peru. Peru is not using this opportunity to enshrine the ideal of humanism: Which Earth is a global village, so any disaster happen to one nation is happen to all of us. National boundary is just an arbitrary creation out of our primitive inclination to nationalistic feeling. So Peru is not mourning the victims because it is blood-relative of Peruvian, it is because Peru is see itself as part of Universal Humanist Nation. Peru has disappointed all of us.
